Xbox Wired Stereo Headset with Space Audio Support Announced, Scheduled for Release Sept. 21

Microsoft has unveiled an upgraded Xbox stereo headset, a $59.99 wired model (about Rs. 4,500) that is more affordable than its stellar $100 wireless headset (about Rs. 7,400) released in early 2021.

According to Microsoft, it will be released on Sept. 21 and, not surprisingly, is missing some features, although much of its design is intact. The Xbox Stereo Headset price in India is set at Rs. 5,990. Gadgets 360 contacted the company for details on availability in India. This report will be updated when we have a response.

Users can turn the dial on the outside of the right earpiece to adjust the volume, and there’s a mute button on the back of the flexible microphone, reflecting what you get with the wireless version.

The stereo headset doesn’t seem to have the chat/game audio mix dial on the left headset like the more expensive model, but that’s not a horrible loss given the price difference.

This headset connects through the Xbox controller via its 3.5mm green cable and plug, which means you can use it with other devices (and controllers) that support this plug.

Microsoft said the stereo headset supports spatial sound technologies like Dolby Atmos, Windows Sonic and DTS:X and that they feature “clean mid and high frequency performance with strong bass”.

If the sound quality matches that of the wireless version, many gamers will be happy with this $59.99 model.
