The Nokia G50 was accidentally leaked by the Finnish company before its official release. The new Nokia phone appears to be a new offering in the Nokia G series that has the Nokia G10 and Nokia G20 as the two existing models. It appeared to have two distinct colors and features, including a waterdrop-style screen notch and a triple rear camera setup. The Nokia G50 is speculated as the most affordable 5G smartphone in Nokia’s smartphone portfolio. It can come in two different storage variants.
The Nokia Mobile Instagram account in France leaked details about the Nokia G50 through a post published on Sunday. Although the original post was pulled shortly after it was reported online, NokiaMob.net was able to save its screenshot and included video teaser to provide us with the details.
Apparently, the Nokia G50 appeared in Blue and Midnight Sun colors. The Instagram post also confirmed that the phone will offer 5G connectivity, as well as a 48 megapixel primary sensor in its triple rear camera configuration.
The phone appears to have a similar design to the existing Nokia G10 and Nokia G20. There is the water droplet style screen notch on the front and the back side has a gradient finish.
Nokia brand licensee HMD Global has yet to reveal any details about the Nokia G50. However, some previous reports indicated that the phone could be Nokia’s most affordable 5G model and include a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC – possibly the Snapdragon 480. The Nokia G50 is also expected to run on Android 11.
In terms of price, the Nokia G50 is available in the UK for GBP 207 (about INR 11,000) for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, while its 4GB RAM + 128GB storage model can be available in Australia for AUD 477 (about Rs. 25,400). In addition, the phone is said to have a Forest Black color option in development – alongside the two colors that appeared on Instagram.
HMD Global may officially launch the Nokia G50 sometime in the next few days. Although official release information has not yet been provided, the phone may arrive before the release of the James Bond film No Time To Die, which HMD Global is an official partner. The film opens on Sept. 28 and hits theaters on Sept. 30.
