Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook Released with OLED Display; Tab P12 Pro, Tab P11 5G Go Official as well

Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook was released at Lenovo’s Tech World 2021 event on Wednesday as an update to the existing IdeaPad Duet Chromebook (called Lenovo Chromebook Duet in the US). The new 2-in-1 Chromebook, called the Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5 in the US, comes with an OLED screen and up to 256GB of built-in storage. It also includes a removable keyboard and supports a magnetic pen. In addition to the IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook, Lenovo brought its two new tablets, called Lenovo Tab P12 Pro and Tab P11 5G. The company also unveiled Lenovo’s Smart Wireless Headphones as a truly wireless stereo (TWS) offering.

The price of the Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook starts at $429.99 (about Rs. 31,700). The Lenovo Tab P12 Pro, on the other hand, will be available with a starting price of $609.99 (about Rs. 44,900), while its 5G model will start at EUR 899 (about Rs. 78,300). The Wi-Fi-only version will be available in the US, while the tablet’s 5G variant will be limited to Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) countries. The Lenovo Tab P11 5G will also be launched in the EMEA market with a starting price of EUR 499 (about Rs. 43,500). In addition, Lenovo Smart Wireless headphones will cost $99.99 (about INR 7,400).

In terms of availability, Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook, Tab P12 Pro and Tab P11 5G will go on sale from October. Lenovo’s Smart Wireless headsets, however, will be available at select US retailers beginning in Q3 2021.

Details about the launch of the new Lenovo devices in India have yet to be revealed.

Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook Specifications

Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook features a 13.3-inch (1,920×1,080 pixels) full-HD screen with 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut and 400 nits of brightness. The screen is made by Samsung Display and is one of the new model’s main differences from last year’s IdeaPad Duet Chromebook. Under the hood, the Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook has an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 SoC, along with 4GB and 8GB LPDDR4 RAM options, as well as 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB eMMC storage.

Lenovo has provided a stand and removable keyboard on the IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook to let you use it like a regular laptop. However, you can also use the device as a tablet when not connected to the keyboard. It comes with an 8 megapixel camera sensor on the back and a 5 megapixel selfie camera sensor on the front.

The IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook features 1W quad speakers and USI stylus holder. Connectivity options include Wi-FI 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.1, and two USB Type-C (USB 3.0 Gen 1) ports. The device also has a pogo-pin connector for using the keyboard.

Lenovo stated that an IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook’s built-in 42Whr battery can provide up to 15 hours of use on a single charge. The Chromebook measures 305.86×186.74×7.25 mm and weighs 700 grams. It also comes in Abyss Blue and Storm Grey.

As successor to last year’s Lenovo Tab P11 Pro, the new Lenovo Tab P12 Pro is designed to take on the latest iPad Pro and Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+. The tablet runs on Android 11. It comes with a 12.6-inch AMOLED screen that has a Resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, a 16:10 aspect ratio and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The screen also comes with support for HDR10 + and Dolby Vision. The Tab P12 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 octa-core SoC, along with 6GB and 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM, as well as 128GB and 256GB of onboard storage options. Built-in storage is also expandable via microSD card.

On the optical front, the Lenovo Tab P12 Pro has a dual rear camera configuration that houses a 13 megapixel primary sensor with an auto focus lens and a 5 megapixel wide-angle shooter. There’s also an 8-megapixel selfie camera on the front that’s paired with a Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor for hands-free login and providing depth data.

Lenovo Tab P12 Pro comes with Dolby Atmos and Lenovo Premium Audio Design and Tuning sound. The tablet also includes quad JBL speakers and dual microphones. Lenovo has also paired the Tab P12 Pro with its proprietary Project Unity service to let users use the tablet screen as an input device for their PCs. It also lets you access Android apps on your PC alongside Windows apps running.

Connectivity options on the Lenovo Tab P12 Pro include 5G (optional), Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS / A-GPS, NFC and a Type-C USB port. The tablet also has a pogo-pin connector to support a detachable keyboard. Plus, Lenovo Precision Pen 3 is supported to deliver a full premium tablet experience. The tablet also has a fingerprint sensor built into its power switch. Other onboard sensors include accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, magnetometer and proximity sensor.

The Lenovo Tab P12 Pro packs a 10,200 mAh battery with capacity for up to 10 hours of web browsing and supports 45W fast charging. It comes with a 30W charger.

The tablet comes in Storm Gray color and measures 285.61×184.53×5.63 mm. It also weighs 565 grams.

Lenovo Tab P11 5G is an update of the previous Tab P11. The tablet runs on Android 11. It comes with an 11-inch 2K (2000 x 1200 pixels) IPS screen with a 15:9 aspect ratio and support for Dolby Vision. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G octa-core SoC, along with 6GB and 8GB LPDDR4 RAM, as well as 128GB and 256GB of onboard storage. Internal storage also supports up to 1TB expansion via a microSD card slot.

For photos and videos, the Lenovo Tab P11 5G comes with a 13 megapixel camera sensor on the back. There is also an 8 megapixel selfie camera available at the front. In addition, the tablet includes a ToF sensor on the front for hands-free login and providing depth data.

The new Lenovo Tab P11 5G comes with a variety of connectivity options that include 5G (optional), 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS / A-GPS and a Type-C USB port. There is also a pogo-pin connector to support a detachable keyboard. In addition, the tablet supports Lenovo Precision Pen 2 for accurate inputs.

Lenovo provided quad JBL speakers in the Tab P11 5G which are tuned by Dolby Atmos and Lenovo Premium Audio Design and Tuning. The tablet also has dual microphones.

Lenovo Tab P11 5G sensors include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope and proximity sensor. The tablet has a 7,700mAh battery that can provide up to 14 hours of web browsing on a single charge. It also supports 20W fast charging. Finally, the tablet measures 258x163x7.9 mm and weighs 520 grams.

Lenovo Smart Wireless Headphones Specifications

Lenovo’s Smart Wireless headphones come with 11mm dynamic drivers and include six noise-canceling microphones. Lenovo claims the microphones work together with its adaptive noise canceling technology to reduce background noise by up to 38 decibels. The headphones also come with touch controls and are compatible with Google Assistant. To appeal to fitness enthusiasts, Lenovo’s Smart Wireless headphones come IPX4 rated for splash and sweat resistance.

Similar to other TWS headphones, Lenovo Smart Wireless Earbuds have Bluetooth v5.2 connectivity. Headphones are also compatible with Android and iOS.

Lenovo Smart Wireless Headphones come with a charging case that supports both wired (via USB Type C) and wireless charging.

Each Lenovo Smart Wireless Earbuds headset provides up to seven hours of continuous listening, while the charging case with its 400mAh battery expands usage to up to 28 hours.

Lenovo’s Smart Wireless headphones measure 28.4 x 47.7 x 56 mm. While each headphone weighs 4.5 grams, the total weight of the headphones is 50 grams with the carrying case. In addition, Lenovo Smart Wireless headphones come in White and Black color options.
