Launch of Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G with Snapdragon 778G SoC, 25W charging support: price, specifications

Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G was finally released weeks after being part of the rumor. The new Samsung phone comes as an update to the Galaxy A52 5G that was released in March. It carries the same screen, battery, and quad rear-facing cameras you get on the previous model. However, as an update, the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G offers a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC that should offer improved performance over the Snapdragon 750G chipset available on the Galaxy A52 5G.

Price, availability of the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G

The price of the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G is set at GBP 409 (about Rs. 41,800) for the single storage variant of 6GB+128GB. The phone comes in Incredible Black, Incredible White, Incredible Violet and Incredible Mint. As for availability, the Galaxy A52s 5G will be available for pre-orders in the UK via the Samsung website from 24 August, with shipments starting on 3 September.

To give some perspective, the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G was released for GBP 399 (about Rs. 40,800) for the same storage configuration of 6GB+128GB. This model was also offered for sale in Europe with a starting price of EUR 429 (approximately Rs. 37,400).

Details on the price of the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G in India and availability have yet to be revealed. Even so, the official Galaxy A52s support page was seen on the Samsung India website last week to suggest its arrival in the country.

Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G Specifications

Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G runs on Android 11 with One UI 3 on top. It features a 6.5 inch Full-HD + Super AMOLED Infinity-O screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G octa-core SoC, along with 6GB of RAM. Samsung also provided a feature called RAM Plus, designed to expand the built-in memory using internal storage to provide a faster multitasking experience. The Galaxy A52s 5G comes with a triple rear camera configuration comprising a 64 megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), a 12 megapixel secondary sensor with an ultra-wide angle f/ lens 2.2, a 5 Megapixel Macro Shooter and a 5 Megapixel Telephoto Shooter.

For selfies and video chats, the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G comes with a 32 megapixel selfie camera on the front, with an f/2.2 fixed focus lens.

Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G comes with 128GB of built-in storage that can be expanded via microSD card (up to 1TB). Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS / A-GPS, NFC and a Type-C USB port. There is also a fingerprint sensor on the display.

To allow for dust and water resistance, Samsung kept the IP67-certified construction for the Galaxy A52s 5G that was also available on the Galaxy A52 5G. The Galaxy A52s also offers stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos sound.

The Samsung Galaxy A52s comes with a 4,500 mAh battery that supports 25W super fast charging. A compatible charger is provided in the box. This is different from the Galaxy A52 5G, which supported 25W charging, but came with a 15W adapter. Furthermore, the phone measures 159.9×75.1×8.4mm and weighs 189 grams. Both dimensions and weight are identical to the Galaxy A52 5G.
