MyGov Corona Helpdesk, the official COVID-19 assistance chatbot from the Ministry of Health, can now be used to book a vaccination slot via WhatsApp. The chat bot will now allow users to reserve vaccination slots for the first and second dose and make an appointment through the instant messaging app. This was after MyGov Corona Helpdesk recently managed to download an electronic copy of the vaccine certificate. WhatsApp says that so far more than 32 lakh certificates have been downloaded by users across the country. This bot was introduced in March of last year to help prevent misinformation about the coronavirus pandemic. WhatsApp says that more than 41 million users across India have accessed the chat bot since then.
How to schedule a vaccination on MyGov Corona Helpdesk on WhatsApp
MyGov Corona Helpdesk is a chat bot that is available on WhatsApp. The new service allows users to reserve vaccination intervals based on the PIN code they feed on. It prompts you to choose a preferred time and date. Using this method, users can jump from going to the CoWIN platform and looking for vacancies and instead easily schedule a vaccination appointment on their phones via WhatsApp. However, to register a new user, the CoWIN platform needs to be used. To book your next vaccination schedule, follow the steps below:
Save the number +91 9013151515 to your phone. Access WhatsApp and search for the MyGov Corona Helpdesk bot. Alternatively, you can access this link to open the MyGoV Corona Helpdesk chatbot on WhatsApp.
Type and send ‘book slot ‘ inside the chatbot on WhatsApp.
This will generate a six-digit OTP on the respective cell phone number. Enter the OTP in the chat bot.
The bot will show a list of people who are registered with the number. Choose the person whose vaccinations you want to book.
MyGov Corona Helpdesk will show nearby centers based on PIN code and type of vaccination. Users can choose a preferred date and location based on the steps mentioned in the chat bot.
All registered CoWIN users can follow the steps to obtain confirmation of their COVID-19 vaccination appointment with the center name along with the date and time.
