Fossil Gen 6 Smartwatch line with Snapdragon 4100+, SpO2 sensor released: price, specifications

The Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch 2021 line was unveiled. The line comes in different styles and sizes and there is also a variant of the Michael Kors brand. These new smartwatches run on the old Wear OS 2 software and not the Wear OS 3 software that was introduced in the Galaxy Watch 4 line. Fossil promises to update to Wear OS 3 in 2022. The new Fossil Gen 6 line comes in dial sizes 42 mm and 44 mm and runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4100+ platform.

Fossil Gen 6 price for sale

The new Fossil Gen 6 line costs $299 (about Rs. 21,900). The stainless steel model is on sale for $319 (about Rs. 23,300). It is now available for pre-orders in the US with delivery expected sometime around September 27th. Wearables come in Smoke Stainless Steel, Brown Leather, Green Camo Grosgrain and Gold / Purple options. There are several choices of silicone, leather and stainless steel bracelets also listed on the US website, priced from $29 to $49 (about Rs 2,000 to Rs. 3,500). It is unclear when the Fossil Gen 6 line will be launched in other international markets.

Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch specifications

As for specs and design, the Fossil Gen 6 has a circular dial in dial sizes of 42mm and 44mm. There is 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage on board, and the smartwatch integrates a 1.28-inch (416×416 pixels) AMOLED touch color screen with a 326ppi screen. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4100+ platform which claims to deliver a 30 percent Fossil Gen 5 performance boost with faster application loading and lower power consumption. It supports Bluetooth v5 connectivity and has a speakerphone and microphone to allow the ability to make and receive calls. The magnetic charging dock is capable of charging your smartphone up to 80% in over 30 minutes. Battery life lasts more than 24 hours in extended mode.

There is an SpO2 sensor built into the Fossil Gen 6 range to obtain estimated blood oxygen saturation measurements. There’s also built-in heart rate monitoring and wellness apps that track your activity, monitor progress, and see the amount of calories burned. As mentioned, the programming runs on Wear OS 2 and comes with support for Google Assistant. Fossil Gen 6 is 3ATM water resistant. Other features include social clock faces, calendar alerts, smartphone notifications, smart home device control, and more. Other connectivity options include GPS, NFC SE and Wi-Fi support.
