BGMI iOS Launch: Battlegrounds Mobile India Finally Hits the App Store after Months of Waiting

The Battlegrounds Mobile India iOS app is now available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad after months of waiting. The game has been available to Android users since mid-June and even earlier for pre-registration. Developer Krafton had been pushing the release of BGMI for iOS for some time, and finally it has arrived. The official website reports that the maintenance of the authentication system for the iOS version of the game was carried out this morning, August 18, probably after which it became playable for iPhone and iPad users.

iOS users can now download and play Battlegrounds Mobile India on their iPhone or iPad. This was two months after Android users got their hands on it. The game was pre-registered on the Google Play Store in mid-May, after which it was made available for beta download on June 17th. Soon after, Battlegrounds Mobile India got early access, allowing more Android users to download and play. So, the official launch of Android took place on July 2nd. Meanwhile, iOS users had to wait for a developer update that kept triggering the next release of the game on the platform, but without an exact date or even an approximate timeline.

Battlegrounds Mobile India is now listed on the App Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. It is 1.9 GB in size and requires iOS 9.0 / iPadOS 9.0 or later. Krafton says at least 2GB of RAM is needed to run the game. BGMI’s iOS app has been rated 17+ and the list claims it has “Frequent/Intense Realistic Violence” – something Krafton was actively trying not to associate his game with following PUBG India’s ban.

iOS players will receive welcome rewards including Recon Mask, Recon Outfit, the Celebration Expert Title and 300AG in in-game currency. iOS players will also win the Galaxy Messenger Set, which was part of the 50M Downloads Rewards event.

Krafton, on the Battlegrounds Mobile India official website, shared that maintenance on the iOS version authentication system was performed this morning, which was completed at 8:30 am IST. Accounts linked to Apple IDs will now be able to log in again.
