LOS ANGELES (AP) — “The Avengers” are returning for a superhero supplement 3 years from now.
Disney and a Marvel Studios unit announced Thursday that a follow-up to this year’s biggest strike will arrive in theaters on May 1, 2015.
The studio announced final week that Joss Whedon will be behind to write and approach a as-yet-untitled sequel.
Released in May, “The Avengers” collected such Marvel comic-book heroes as Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), a Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth). The film has taken in scarcely $1.5 billion worldwide.
