BMC rider Schar hit by Tour doctor’s car

BAGNERES-DE-LUCHON, France (AP) -BMC rider Michael Schar suffered minor cuts on his right knee after colliding with the Tour de France doctor’s car.

BMC team doctor Max Testa says one of Schar’s elbows looks swollen and would be given further examination at the team hotel late Thursday.

Another BMC rider Stephen Cummings crashed in a separate incident after the feed zone during Thursday’s stage and has pain in his left hip that also requires further evaluation, Testa said.

Schar and Cummings are support riders for defending Tour de France champion Cadel Evans.
