Maybe. Frank Isola of the New York Daily News (and NBC SportsTalk regular) tweeted this recently:
Grant Hill will either join Steve Nash and the Lakers or retire, a source close to the veteran forward told me.
Hill, at age 39, is certainly on the back end of his career but can still contribute. Last season he gave the Suns a solid 28 minutes and 10.2 points per game.
The Lakers have the mini mid-level exception left ($3 million a year) and certainly went into a win-now mode by agreeing to trade for Nash. They have propped open a championship window that seemed to be closing.
The question is do they need Hill as a backup swingman or do they need to use that money to secure a quality backup point guard to keep Nash’s minutes down? Also, who can they get for their money right now?
Just something to watch. Hill may retire, but you know the Lakers will at least consider this.R Soft Web Hosting
