Energy-starved Pakistan and China have signed three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) for setting up wind power plants to produce up-to 550mw electricity, Philippines News Agency reported. The MoUs were inked at the conclusion of a two-day Pakistan-China Joint Energy Group meeting in Islamabad, officials said. Pakistans Minister for Water and Power Syed Naveed Qamar told reporters that all the power projects including coal, hydro and wind were thoroughly discussed in the two-day meeting besides positive development on issues pertaining to energy sector. He said that Chinese companies have shown keen interest to provide technical assistance and financing all mega projects to overcome the power crisis, the news agency reported.
